Nurse Leadership Institute

STN is pleased to announce the next iteration of the Nurse Leadership Institute. This 12-week course is scheduled to being Monday, March 3rd and run through Monday, May 26th.

STN's Nurse Leadership Institute offers opportunities for aspiring leaders in trauma care to learn and grow in their profession. The Leadership Institute directly supports and enhances the mission, vision and strategic plan of STN by addressing the specialized needs of a trauma leader.

Registration is OPEN NOW, and will be available through Friday, February 28th. There are a maximum of 50 seats, so register today to secure your spot in this exciting opportunity. The cost of the course is $300 for STN members and $425 for non-members. Non-members will receive a 1-year STN membership upon course completion.

The Leadership Institute is designed to equip trauma leaders with the tools needed to effectively lead from the bedside to the boardroom and beyond. This is a web-based course, utilizing experienced speakers, PowerPoint presentations, creative toolbox items and blogs, occurring over a 12-week period. Applicants must have a comfort level with an online format and have access to a computer with the minimum browser requirements.

This course will deliver leadership topics that will assist the trauma leader to grow both personally and professionally in their leadership role, including:

  • Communication and Relationship Management
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment
  • Business Skills and Knowledge

Moderators

All presentations will be pre-recorded for viewing; however, moderators will actively engage with participants, providing interaction and feedback throughout the course. Your participation in discussions and assessments is expected.

IT Requirements

  • For PC-based participants: Internet Explorer 10.0 or above, latest version of Mozilla Firefox, or latest version of Google Chrome (JavaScript enabled). Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection.
  • For Mac-based participants: Latest version of Safari, Firefox, or Google Chrome (JavaScript enabled). A cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection is necessary.

Responsibilities/Key Activities

  • Complete all modules recorded session and complete required after session learning activities (reading articles, discussion boards, application activities, assignments, etc.).
  • Commit to spending at least 2-3 hours per module, reading materials, preparing for sessions, viewing videos, and completing assignments.

Continuing Education Credit

The Society of Trauma Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

This program will provide 36.5 contact hours of continuing nursing education. All assignments and final evaluation must be completed to receive CNE for this program. No partial credit will be awarded.

The registration fee is $300 for STN members and $425 for non-members. The non-member rate will include 1-year of membership to STN.
