STN Nurse Leadership Institute

STN's Nurse Leadership Institute offers opportunities for aspiring leaders in trauma care to learn and grow in their profession. The Leadership Institute directly supports and enhances the mission, vision and strategic plan of STN by addressing the specialized needs of a trauma leader.

The deadline for applications for the Spring 2023 Leadership Institute is March 10, 2023. Upon acceptance to the Leadership Institute, a $150 fee will be required. The Spring 2023 course will begin on April 10.


The Leadership Institute is designed to equip trauma leaders with the tools needed to effectively lead from the bedside to the boardroom and beyond. This is a web-based course, utilizing experienced speakers, PowerPoint presentations, creative tool box items and blogs, occurring over a 12-week period. Applicant must have a comfort level with an online format and have access to a computer with the minimum browser requirements.

This course will deliver leadership topics that will assist the trauma leader to grow both personally and professionally in their leadership role, including:

  • Communication and Relationship Management
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment
  • Business Skills and Knowledge


Society of Trauma Nurses is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This course is awarded 36 hours.
