#  BCEN/STN Scholarship Applications Open

![](https://traumanurses.org/_resources/images/news/2025/2025-03-03-bcen-scholarships.jpg)BCEN/STN ScholarshipsThanks to the generous support of the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN), STN is pleased to announce that [applications are now open for BCEN scholarships](https://www.cognitoforms.com/SocietyOfTraumaNurses/BCENSTNScholarshipApplication) to support STN members who seek to advance their formal nursing education. The deadline to apply for an STN-BCEN scholarship is **Thursday, April 30, 2026**. Below are the standard eligibility requirements for all BCEN scholarships:

- Applicants must be members of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) in good standing.
- Applicants must carry a minimum of a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) for consideration. Transcripts must be submitted with the scholarship application.
- Applicants must be attending a NLN, AACN, or CCNE accredited university, and must provide verification of the university’s current accreditation.
- STN Board members, and members of the Scholarship Selection Committee, either currently serving, or who have served in the past three (3) years, as well as members of their immediate family, are ineligible to apply for a BCEN scholarship.

**Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Undergraduate Scholarships**
This scholarship is awarded to an STN member, who holds the TCRN credential, and is currently pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing.

*Requirements: Applicants must be current registered nurses, holding the TCRN credential, and meet all standard eligibility requirements. Applicants must include a letter of recommendation from a peer, an instructor, or a supervisor.*

- Amount of each award: $2,500

**Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Graduate Scholarships**
This scholarship is awarded to an STN member, who holds a TCRN credential, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.

*Requirements: Applicants must hold the TCRN credential. Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited master’s program in nursing and must include a statement about their trauma nursing career intent. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.*

- Amount of each award: $2,500

**Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Doctoral Scholarship**
This scholarship is awarded to an STN member, who holds a TCRN credential, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or Ph.D.).

*Requirements: Applicants must hold the TCRN credential. Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their trauma nursing career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.*

- Amount of each award: $2,500

**Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Paramedic Scholarships**
This scholarship is awarded to an STN associate member, who is a licensed emergency medical technician (EMT) or paramedic, and who is pursuing a college degree in nursing.

*Requirements: Applicants must provide proof of licensure as an EMT or paramedic. Applicants must include a letter of recommendation from a peer, an instructor, or a supervisor. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.*

- Amount of each award: $2,500
